Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Personal” and tap “Backup & Reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords and settings to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow data to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or when signing in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account for syncing and ensure the “Contacts” tick box is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with your backup account or by manually syncing the account data –and contacts- with the Android device.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer storage
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Android phone and PC
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the PC
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) of origin
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device form the USB port
