Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the slider towards the left to decrease brightness
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Location” tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the features

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: if your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Access “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps” and access “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
  4. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might improve battery life in the long run by changing the sync settings of your accounts/apps to reduce sync.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select the desired account type
  4. Tap the desired account
  5. Change the settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Go to “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the update (the process will require at least one reboot)
