Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Access Personal and tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when logging in with the backup account or reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and the account to use for contact syncing
- Make sure the Contacts check box is ticked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the PC
- Copy and transfer the backup files to the phone storage preferably in the folders of origin
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
