Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings” for more options and go to “Display”
  4. Optionally enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout settings, access “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use, including Hotspot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Location” “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks,

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Go to “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type”
  5. Enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can remove or disable unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
  4. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the update
