Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” > “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Access “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot, you can avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Return to “Settings” and tap “Location” for more GPS options
  4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. Go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Turn “Tethering & Mobile hotspot” Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Go to “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes which can affect battery life even when the apps are not in use. You can remove or disable unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap “Disable” / ‘Force Stop”
  5. Tap “Uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can try to improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data regularly synced by your accounts and apps.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts” and select an account type
  3. Tap an account and change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if updates are available and if so, follow the prompts to download and install them
