Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Device > Battery
- Tap Menu
- Enable Battery saver
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Launch Settings
- Access Display and optionally, turn Adaptive brightness ON or OFF
- For timeout options, tap Sleep and select a lower value like 15 seconds
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: By disabling the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot, you can avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the Wi-Fi Location and Bluetooth quick toggles to turn the features Off
- Return to Settings and tap Location for more GPS options
- Tap Mode and enable Battery saving
- Go back to Settings and tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Turn Tethering & Mobile hotspot Off
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Go to Mobile networks > Preferred network type
- Enable 2G
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes which can affect battery life even when the apps are not in use. You can remove or disable unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Go to Apps and switch to Downloaded or All apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Disable / Force Stop
- Tap Uninstall
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can try to improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data regularly synced by your accounts and apps.
- Open Settings
- Go to Accounts and select an account type
- Tap an account and change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Open Settings
- Access About phone
- Tap System updates
- Check if updates are available and if so, follow the prompts to download and install them
