Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Go to Device
- Tap Battery > Menu
- Enable Battery saver
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left in the quick toggle area
- Launch Settings
- Go to Display and enable or disable Adaptive brightness
- Tap Sleep timeout duration
- Select a lower value like 15 seconds
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- From the quick toggle area, tap Bluetooth Wi-Fi and Location quick toggles to disable the features
- Open Settings
- Go to Location for GPS options
- Tap Mode and enable Battery saving
- Expand Wireless & Networks
- Disable Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Go to Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile networks and access Preferred network type
- Enable 2G
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phones battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Access Apps
- Switch to All apps or Downloaded
- Tap the desired app
- Tap Force Stop / Disable
- Alternatively, tap Uninstall
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You might improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.
- Launch Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and as such its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Launch Settings
- Access About phone
- Go to System updates
- Check if new updates are available and if applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply updates
