Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. For timeout options, go to “Sleep” and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. From the quick toggle area, tap the “Bluetooth” “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Location” for GPS settings
  5. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saving” then return to “Settings”
  6. Expand “Wireless & Networks” and disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”

Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Expand “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Access “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app
  4. To turn the app off, tap “Disable” / “Force stop”
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data synced regularly by your apps and accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account
  5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS Updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install updates
