Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Access “Settings” > “Display”
  3. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  4. Go to “Sleep” for timeout settings and select a lower timeout value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Go to “Location” for GPS settings and tap “menu”
  5. Enable” Battery saving” and return to “Settings”
  6. Expand “Wireless & Networks” and disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”

Switch to 2G networks temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery, you can switch to 2G connectivity temporarily to conserve energy until the next recharge.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Select “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when they are not actively in use, By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap “Disable” or “Force Stop”
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone” and tap “system updates”
  3. Check if new updates are available and if so, follow the prompt to download and apply the updates
