Enable Battery Optimization:
- On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
- Launch Settings
- Go to Battery > Battery optimization
- Tap an app to optimize it
- Additionally, you can tap Menu and enable Advanced optimization
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Launch Settings
- Go to Display > Advanced
- Tap Sleep for timeout options and select a lower timeout value
Disable Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the Bluetooth and GPS quick toggles to turn the features Off
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the quick toggle and set the switch OFF
- Open settings for hotspot options and go to Network & Internet
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot and disable the option
Uninstall Unused Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform background processes regularly and this can potentially affect the devices battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Swipe the home screen up from the bottom
- Launch Settings
- Go to System > System update
- Tap Check for update and if applicable, follow the prompts to download and install available updates
