Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the apps cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, like saves, custom settings, user profiles, login data etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the apps cache.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch Settings > Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps if needed
- Select the desired app and tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt fix the issues, tap Clear data
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Before you factory reset the device, ensure you back up all of your data.
- Launch Settings > System
- Tap reset options
- To reset network settings, go to Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth
- Tap Reset twice to confirm
- To reset app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To factory reset the phone, tap Erase all data (Factory reset) > Reset phone > Erase everything
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode where all of the third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Press and hold Power
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- Wait for the device to finish rebooting. Once done, you should see a Safe Mode watermark on the lower area of the home screen
- Open Settings and access Apps & Notifications
- If necessary, switch to All apps
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot the device normally
