Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “Battery”
  4. Tap “Battery optimization”
  5. Select the app you want to optimize
  6. Optionally, tap “menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left and open “Settings”
  3. Access “Display”
  4. Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep”
  5. Select a lower timeout value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down and tap the “GPS (Location)” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  2. To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the quick toggle and set the switch OFF
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Go to “Network & Internet” > “Hotspot & Tethering”
  5. Tap “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and set the switch OFF

Uninstall Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes and this can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when they are not actively in use. You can potentially improve battery life by removing unused third-party apps.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Switch to “See all apps” if necessary and select the desired app
  5. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS Updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the firmware updated at all times.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “System”
  4. Tap “System updates”
  5. Tap “Check for update”
  6. If updates are available, follow the prompts to download and install them
