Enable Battery Saver Mode:
- Open Settings
- Go to Device
- Tap Battery
- Tap Menu and enable Battery saver
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- From the Notification area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open Settings
- Go to Display and optionally, enable or disable Adaptive brightness
- For timeout options, tap Sleep and select a lower value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the Wi-Fi Bluetooth and Location quick toggles to disable the features
- Open Settings and go to Location
- Tap mode and enable Battery saving
- Return to Settings and expand Wireless & Networks
- Disable Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life by changing your sync settings to reduce the amount of data synced by your accounts.
- Open Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and the desired account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phones battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps you can potentially improve battery life.
- Launch Settings
- Go to Apps and switch to All apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Force Stop / Disable
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Open Settings
- Go to About phone
- Tap System updates
- Check if new updates are available and follow the prompts to download and apply the updates
