Clear App Data/Cache:

NOTE: if an app causes problems or takes up too much storage than it should, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app’s cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, including login details, custom settings, user profiles etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps & Notifications”
  3. If necessary, switch to “All apps”
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the app cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data”

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Phone:

NOTE: Ensure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the phone.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “System”
  3. Tap “Reset options”
  4. To reset network settings, access “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth”
  5. Tap “Reset” two times to confirm
  6. To reset app settings, access “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps”
  7. To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (Factory Reset)” > “Reset phone”
  8. Tap “Erase Everything”

Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:

NOTE: if a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power”
  2. From the power-management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Wait for the device to finish rebooting and you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  4. Open ”Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
  5. Switch to “All apps” if necessary and select the desired app
  6. Tap “uninstall” > “OK”
  7. Once the app has been remove, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting the phone normally
