Enable Battery Optimization:
- Launch Settings
- Access Battery
- Tap Battery optimization
- Select the app you want to optimize
- Optionally you can also tap Menu and enable Advanced optimization
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen swipe the Status bar down
- In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Launch Settings and go to Display
- Tap Advanced > Sleep
- Select a lower timeout value
Remove Unused Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform background processes and this can potentially affect the devices battery life. You can remove unused third-party apps from the phone to avoid this and improve battery life.
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps if needed
- Select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the devices connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the Bluetooth and GPS (Location) quick toggles to disable the features
- Tap and hold the Wi-Fi toggle and turn the feature OFF
- For more network options, open Settings and go to Network & Internet
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot and disable the feature
Update the OS:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus its recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:
- Launch Settings
- Go to System
- Tap System updates > Check for updates
- If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the updates
