Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
  3. Select the app you want to optimize
  4. Optionally, you can tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Drag the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings” and go to “Display”
  4. Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep”
  5. Select a lower timeout value

Uninstall Unused Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third-party apps can perform background processes regularly and this can potentially affect the device’s battery life. By removing unused third-party apps from the device, you might improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Switch to “See all apps” if necessary
  4. Select the desired app then tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “GPS (Location)” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” toggle and disable the option
  4. For more options, go to “Settings” > “Network & Internet”
  5. Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot”
  6. Disable the feature

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “System”
  3. Tap “System updates” > “Check for updates”
  4. If updates are available, follow the prompts to download and install them
