Re: Prepaid service. which is the best?
It all depends on which network gives you the best coverage where you want to use the phone. If the coverage is good for all of them, my vote would be for T-Mobile. No daily fees, as there are with Verizon and some Cingular options. Tracphone is the most expensive per minute, I think. I know little about Amp'd, except that I believe they use Verizon's network.
My personal experience is with T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile. I was not happy with Virgin Mobile's coverage or their phones. T-Mobile has served me much better, and the phones are of much higher quality.Would you like some cheese with that whine?

Boost is really expensive, I'd go with T-Mobile. Good $/minute balance, cool phones. Virgin Mobile is also good, too.

Re: Prepaid service. which is the best?
its all about good coverage like most people have mentioned and the minutes you can get (most bang for your buck)... In most areas though, you cant go wrong with Tmobile or Cingular's prepaid plans...
Cingular/AT&T might as well have the best prepaid plans out there, with the unlimited option easily tacked on.

Re: Prepaid service. which is the best?
I'm partial to T-Mobile, provided their plan works where you often are.
Once you get to the $100 mark in refills, the ability to rollover all your unused minutes for an entire year for as little as $10 is unbeatable.
But the bottom line is that you need to know which providers offer the best coverage and reception where you often are. The best "deal" in the world is no deal if the service sucks where you are.

Hi,
You can try sti phone service. Check them out at stimobile.com. Service is provided by Sprint pcs. Rate is 10cents/minute day and night. There is a daily fee of 10 cents which rounds to 3$ a month. About the coverage, you have to call and find out from them. No other hidden fees or anything.

I don't agree mith medic63. I loved virgin mobile. It runs off sprintPCS's sattelites, which means pretty okay service. There phones aren't the greatest (Mostly kyoceras), but that makes up for their huge selection of add-ons, like ringtones, wallpapers, and chatrooms. Virgin Mobile is also a go if you like a wide selection of plans.

Re: Prepaid service. which is the best?
Let me be objective about this since I have dealt with most all of the prepaid companies over time.Tracfone is expensive, their counterpart NET 10 is not,but they are not the best for all around service.T-mobile2Go is ok if they have the coverage in your area, but no 850mhz roaming.Gold Rewards are nice as wellas 1 year exp. aft.$100.Virgin Mobile is ok if you have coverage, but only on Sprint's PCS network(NO roaming).Verizon is a big no-mo on prepay.99 cents a day charge use the phone or not.All calls are a dime a minute though and M2M is free to other VZW customers.Boost is ok if coverage is there, but you pay so much a day every day for wireless web,use it or not.Don't want web?Call Cust.Serv. to block it and not be charged the fee.Calls are 20 cents/min. unless to other Sprint/Nextel/Boost customers then it is a dime.AT&T Go phone is ok.Has great coverage, but rates depend on plan you choose.Best to Pay as you go,IMO.For all of these, they have text packages you can get per month at a fee.Or you can pay per message in or out.Only Boost and Cincinnati Bell have free incoming TXT.iWireless is great now that they allow roaming. But minute plan is pricey(35 cents a minute for peak). I have never used Alltel,so I cannot say. They are not able to sell in SW Ohio where I live. Right now,I have an AT&T post pay acct. and a GO Phone PAYG acct. via phone cards.I like them.but to each their own,and YMMV.
