I have a Huawei Ascend Y215 cell phone and it has the Android operating system . It's memory is full and I installed a huge memory chip. How do I transfer from its internal memory to the chip I installed to free up space because now I cannot install any more apps. I get the message " memory full " when I attempt to install anything .

It sounds like you have a lot of media (music, pics, video) on the internal storage. I don't believe you can store applications on the sd card with this phone without rooting, but you can move the media to the sd card. To move things you can use a program like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...roid.pop&hl=en

Or plug the phone into your computer, copy the files to it, and them copy them to the sd card.

There should be a setting in your camera to store pics and video to the sd card that you should also change so future media is stored to the sd card.

Hi, yes this was my next question. Where do I find the setting to change the default storage to the sd card from the internal storage ?

Try going to the camera and hitting menu > settings - there's probably a setting under there for the pics and video like "Storage: sd card"

Actually it's the apps that take up a lot of storage but someone told me that on this particular phone it can only download to the internal storage . Is this true ?

If you want to transfer any app to SD card.

Go to Settings > App, at top right corner you will see 3 block icon. Tap on it and select "Sort by size". Tap on the first app that appears (It is the app which uses most of your internal storage). Under "storage" tab, select "Move to SD card".

The Application will move to SD card.

I went to app info and there I see the App's and how much storage they are using up. I see a Move to SD card box as well on the bottom of the screen. However that box is not lighted up and it is not possible to perform that task.
The only option it is giving is to uninstall or to clear data but not to move to SD card. It is not possible to do on this phone.

Thank-you anyways for trying to help me though .
