Sending a Text Message

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Apps.
2. Then select Messages -> tap the plus sign (+).
3. In the To field, enter the desired contact name or phone number. Or, if you want to send the text to a group of people, tap Contacts and select the contacts that you want to send the message to.
4. Tap the Add text box and enter the desired message.
5. When finished, tap Send to send the message or if you want to save it as draft and send it later tap the Save as draft icon located at the top right corner of the screen.

Note: You have a limited number of characters that you can write in a single text message, the number is displayed above the Send icon. In case you exceed the limit, your message will still be sent as one single text, but you’ll be billed for more than just one.
Also, if your text message is really long, you attach a file, add an email address as a recipient or add a text subject then it will automatically become an MMS (multimedia message).


Sending an MMS (multimedia message)

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Apps.
2. Then select Messages -> tap the plus sign (+).
3. In the To field, enter the desired email address, contact name or phone number.
4. Tap the Add text box and enter the desired message.
5. Then tap Attach (the paper clip icon) and select the desired attachment type.
6. If you’d like to see more options after adding an attachment, tap More. You will then see a few options for removing, replacing or viewing the attachment.
7. To send the MMS, tap Send or tap the Save as draft icon located at the top left corner of the screen if you wish to send it later.

Creating a Slideshow

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Apps.
2. Then select Messages -> tap the plus sign (+).
3. In the To field, enter the desired email address, contact name or phone number.
4. Tap the Add text box and enter the desired message.
5. Then tap Attach (the paper clip icon) and select the desired attachment type.
6. The tap the Attach icon once again and select Slide.
7. Select where you would like to insert a new slide.
8. After you added a slide, you can select one of the next options:
• Tap the Attach icon and select to add either a video or a picture.
• Tap the Attach icon and select Audio if you would like to add a voice recording or music to your slide.
• Tap Add text and type in your caption.
• Tap More to take a look at the available options for removing, replacing or viewing the attachment.
9. To preview your slideshow, tap Menu and select Preview -> then tap the screen once for the playback controls.
10. After you’ve finished reviewing the slideshow and you’re satisfied with the result, tap Send or save your MMS as a draft.

Saving a Text Message in Tasks

With your HTC One VX you can now easily remind yourself when to replay to a text by saving it in the Tasks list.

1. From the Home screen tap Apps -> Messages.
2. From the All messages screen, tap the desired contact or phone number to see the text messages you’ve exchanged with the contact.
3. Then tap the text you’d like to save and select Save as task.
4. Enter any other details for the task or just change its title.
5. When finished, tap Save.

Backing up Your Messages

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Apps and select Messages.
2. Then tap Menu -> tap Back up SMS -> tap Back up SMS once again.
3. Enter a name for your fine and when ready, tap OK.

Backing up Your Text Messages by Email

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Apps and select Messages.
2. Then tap Menu -> tap Back up SMS and select Back up SMS via mail.
3. Then enter your email address, compose and email message and tap Send.
4. You can later on restore your texts on your smartphone by opening the email, downloading the attachment and then importing the backup file.
