Changing the Wallpaper:

  1. From the home screen, drag the status bar down using two fingers
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap "Personalize" > "Wallpaper"
  4. Select either "HTC wallpapers", "Live wallpapers", "Gallery" or "Computer photos"
  5. Choose the image that you wish to set as your wallpaper, crop the image if necessary and then tap "Done" or "Apply"

Changing the Ringtone, Notification and / or Alarm Sounds:

  1. Swipe the status bar using two fingers
  2. Tap "Settings" and select "Personalize"
  3. Under "Sound" select whether you wish to set a different ringtone, notification or alarm
  4. Select the desired sound and tap "Apply"

Adding More Home Screens:

While the HTC One max features the BlinkFeed home screen in Sense 5 UI, you can add additional "classic" home screens and customize them a la vanilla Android. To add more regular home screens:

  1. While viewing the home screen, pinch the screen using two fingers
  2. Tap the "+ Add panel" button located at the top of the screen

  • To set a different home screen as the main one, tap a home screen panel and tap "Set as home". (Alternatively, tap and hold a home screen and drag it on top of the "set as home" button)
  • To remove a home screen, tap and hold it then drag it on top of the "Remove" area

Customizing Your Home Screen With Widgets and Shortcuts:

  1. While viewing a home screen, pinch the screen using two fingers
  2. Tap the "Triangle" button and select "Widgets"
  3. Browse for the desired widget, then tap and hold it and drag it to the desired home screen thumbnail

  • To add app shortcuts to the home screen:
    1. Tap the "Triangle" button and select "Apps" or "Shortcuts"
    2. Browse for the desired app or shortcut, then tap and hold the desired one, and drag it on top of the desired home screen thumbnail

Customizing BlinkFeed

Enabling / Disabling BlinkFeed:

  1. While on the home screen, pinch the screen using two fingers
  2. Tap "BlinkFeed on / off" to enable or disable this feature

Selecting Feeds:

  1. Whole on the Feeds panel, swipe from left to right to open the slideout menu
  2. Tap the "Menu" icon depicting three vertical dots, and tap "Topics and services". (Note: the first time you try to select content, you will be prompted whether or not you wish to use your Facebook profile to automatically gather content)
  3. Swipe right or left and choose between different feed types

Customizing the Highlights Feed:

  1. While on the Feeds panel, swipe left to right to access the slideout menu
  2. Tap "Menu" and select "Settings"
  3. Tap "Choose Highlights topics"
  4. Select the desired news sources, apps and social networks that you wish to appear in BlinkFeed

Adding or Removing Locales:

  1. Swipe right on the Feeds panel
  2. In the slideout menu, tap "Menu" > "Topics and services"
  3. On the "Featured headlines" or "Categories" tabs, press "Menu" > "Add editions" / "Remove editions"

Adding Topics of Interest:

  1. Swipe right on the Feeds panel to access the slideout menu
  2. Tap "Menu" > "Topics and services"
  3. Go to the "Custom topics" tab, and tap the "Search" icon to enter the desired topic
  4. Select a result, and tap the "+" button to add it to the "Custom topics" tab

Saving a Feeds Article for Later:

In case you wish to read an article from BlinkFeed later, you can bookmark it by doing the following:

  1. While in the Feeds panel, select the tile containing the desired article to view it
  2. While viewing the article, press the icon depicting three horizontal lines.

Note: alternatively, while on the Feeds panel, you can press and hold a tile and then tap "Read later". The "saved" articles can be found in the slideout menu

Deleting Tiles from BlinkFeed:

  1. On the feeds panel, tap and hold the tile that you wish to remove
  2. Tap "Remove"

Posting to Your Social Networks via BlinkFeed:

  1. While on the Feeds panel, swipe to the right to access the slideout menu
  2. Tap "Menu" > "Compose"
  3. Select the desired social network
  4. Compose your status update and post it
