Enabling Wi-Fi and Connecting to a Network:
- Using two fingers, swipe the status bar down to open the "Quick Settings" panel
- Tap the "Wi-Fi" tile to enable Wi-Fi
- Press the " " button associated with the tile
- In the list of detected Wi-Fi networks, select the one that you wish to connect to. (You can also tap "Menu" > "Add network" to manually add a Wi-Fi network)
- If prompted to do so, enter the network's password or key
- Tap "Connect"
Connecting to a Different Wi-Fi Network:
- Swipe the status bar down using two fingers
- Make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled, and tap the " " button
- To manually scan for networks tap "Menu" > "Scan"
- Select the desired network and tap "Connect"
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network via WPS:
Assuming that you're using a Wi-Fi router featuring Wi-Fi Protected Setup (or WPS), you can easily connect your One max by performing the following steps:
- Open the "Quick Settings" window by swiping the status bar down with two fingers
- Enable Wi-Fi if necessary, then tap the " " button
- Tap "Menu" > "WPS Push"
- Press the WPS button on your Wi-Fi router
NOTE: to use the WPS PIN method, press the "Menu" icon and tap "WPS PIN Entry"
Disconnecting from a Wireless Network:
- Swipe down from the status bar using two fingers
- Make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled, and tap " "
- Here, you can:
- Tap the wireless network that your device is connected to, and then tap "Disconnect"
- If you wish to disconnect and also remove the settings for the respective network tap and hold its name, then tap "Forget network"
Prevent Getting Notifications From Unsecured Wi-Fi Networks:
- Access the "Quick Settings" menu
- Enable Wi-Fi and tap the " " button associated with the Wi-Fi tile
- Tap and hold the unsecured Wi-Fi network from which you wish to stop the notifications
- Tap "Block network notification"
- To unblock a network, tap and hold its name, then tap "Unblock network notification"
Logging into a Public Wi-Fi Network Automatically (WISPr):
You can set your HTC One max to automatically log into public Wi-Fi networks that you use on a regular basis. To do so, you need to add your login credentials to the WISPr (Wireless Internet Service Provider roaming) settings.
- Using two fingers, drag the status bar down
- If necessary, tap the "Wi-Fi" tile to enable Wi-Fi
- Press the " " button
- Tap the "Menu" icon and tap "Advanced"
- Under "WISPr settings", select "Auto login"
- Tap "WISPr account settings" > "Add a new account"
- Enter your login name, password and service provider name
- Tap "Menu" > "Save"
- Enable Wi-Fi and connect to a public Wi-Fi network
NOTE: You can add up to five sets of login credentials to the WISPr accounts list
Wi-Fi Printing
In order to use Wi-Fi Printing, your HTC One max needs to be connected to the same local network as the supported Wi-Fi printer.
- While in an app such as "Calendar" or "Mail", open the item that you wish to print
- Tap the "Menu" icon and tap "Print". (Or "More" > "Print")
- On the "Print" screen, select the printer that you wish to use
- If necessary, set the desired page range. Additionally, you can tap "Advanced" to set the page size, layout, page orientation and more
- Tap "Print"
Printing a Photo:
- Open the "Gallery" application and open the photo that you wish to print
- Tap the photo and tap "Menu" > "Print"
- Select the desired printer and tap "Print"
Adding a Printer Manually:
If your printer does not appear in the list, you can try and add it manually by doing the following:
- From the "Print" screen, tap "Add printer"
- Enter your printer's IP address and select a port.
- Tap "Next" and select the manufacturer and the model of the printer
- Tap "Save"
