HTC One (M8) No SIM card

For some reason my new m8 is reporting that there is no sim card in the phone when there definitely is. I tried taking it out, cleaning it, and putting it back in to no avail. Any ideas?

How did you clean the sim card? Did you try rubbing alcohol? If not I would try that. If it doesn't work try one of these:

• Put a small amount of tape on the back of the sim card to ensure that it doesn't easily move around
• Move the card around a bit to make sure the contacts are connecting to the phone properly
• take the phone back
