Clearing an App's Cache / Data:

NOTE: Clearing an app's cache can fix various issues with the said app, such as freezes / crashes etc. If clearing the cache doesn't help, then you can clear the app's data too.
WARNING! While clearing the app's cache will not affect personal data, clearing the app's data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the app, including saved games, login data, settings, credit card information etc. To clear an app's cache and / or data:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Phone", tap "Apps"
  4. Go to the "All" tab
  5. Select the desired application
  6. Tap "Clear cache"
  7. If necessary, tap "Clear data" > "OK"

Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone is "acting up" and doesn't work as intended (freezes / crashes / you experience an unexplained drop in performance etc.) then you can try and fix these issues by clearing the phone's cache partition. Unlike a master reset, clearing the cache will not delete any personal data stored on the phone's internal memory. To wipe the phone's cache:

  1. Turn off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Volume Down" button
  3. Press and release the "Power" key to turn on your handset
  4. Keep holding "Volume Down" until you see three "Androids" at the bottom of the screen. At that point, release the "Volume" key
  5. From the "HBOOT" menu, press "Volume down" and navigate to "Recovery"
  6. Press "Power" to select the option. A red triangle should pop-up on the screen
  7. Press "Volume Up" and "Power" simultaneously
  8. From the recovery menu, press the "Volume Down" key until you highlight "Wipe cache partition"
  9. Press "Power" to commence the cache wipe
  10. Once the process is done, the "Reboot system now" option will be highlighted
  11. Press "Power" once more to reboot your device in normal mode

Safe Mode

NOTE: You can turn on safe mode on your smartphone in order to get rid of malicious applications that would otherwise prevent you from uninstalling them while running. In safe mode, third party apps are disabled and cannot run.

Enabling Safe Mode:

  1. While viewing the home screen, press and hold the "Power" key
  2. Tap and hold the "Power off" option
  3. Once the "Reboot to safe mode" message pops-up, tap "Restart"
  4. Your device should now reboot in safe mode. A "Safe Mode" label should appear in the lower-left side of the screen

Uninstalling an Application and Exiting Safe Mode:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Phone", tap "Apps"
  4. Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen
  5. Select the desired application and tap "Uninstall" > "OK"
  6. To exit safe mode, press and hold the "Power" button
  7. Tap and hold the "Restart" option
  8. Tap "Restart" in the "Restart phone" pop-up
  9. Wait for your device to reboot in normal mode
