Viewing the Amount of Free External (SD) Storage:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Go to "Storage" under "Phone"
  4. Under "SD Card", you can view the "Available" storage value

Formatting the SD Card:

WARNING! Once you format the SD card, all the data stored on it will be deleted. If necessary, back up your data before formatting the card.

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Scroll to "SD Card" and tap "Format SD card"
  4. In the warning pop-up, tap "Erase SD Card"
  5. Review the warning message and tap "Erase Everything" to confirm

Deleting or Opening Files

Opening or Deleting Files Using Your Smartphone:

  1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
  2. Open the "My Files" application
  3. Tap "All files" and select "SD memory card"
  4. Locate the file or folder that you wish to open or delete
  5. To open the file, tap it
  6. To delete the file, mark the check box next to it, and tap the "Trash can" icon
  7. Tap "OK" to confirm

Opening or Deleting Files from the SD Card Using a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC One Mini 2 to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "USB Connected" > "Connect USB storage"
  3. From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open folder to view files" > "OK"
  4. Locate the desired files stored on the phone's SD card
  5. Double-click a file to open it. To delete it, right-click it and select "Delete"
  6. Once the steps are done, safely disconnect your smartphone by clicking the "Removable Storage" icon from the system tray

Transferring Files between a Computer and the SD Card

Transferring Files between the SD Card and a Mac Computer:

  1. Ensure that you have installed HTC Sync Manager on the Mac
  2. Connect the HTC One Mini 2 to your Mac using the USB cable
  3. An HTC Sync manager window should appear on the Mac
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to manage the files stored on the phone's SD card

Transferring Files between the SD Card and a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between the One Mini 2 and PC via USB
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down
  3. Tap "USB Connected" > "Connect USB storage"
  4. Click "Open folder to view files" in the AutoPlay window on the computer
  5. Locate the desired files and copy them from or on the SD card / HDD
  6. After the files have been transferred, tap "Disconnect storage from PC" on your smartphone
  7. It's now safe to disconnect your Mini 2 from the computer

Changing the Default Storage Location for Apps

NOTE: The HTC One Mini 2 uses the phone's internal storage for most applications, by default. However, you can change the storage location to the SD card for various apps, as explained below:

Changing the Storage Location for the "Camera" Application:

  1. Launch the "Camera" application
  2. Press "Menu"
  3. Tap "Settings" and select "Storage"
  4. Choose to store the data on the "SD card"

Changing the Storage for the "Internet" Application:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen
  2. Open "Internet"
  3. Press "Menu"
  4. Tap "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Download storage"
  5. Select "Storage Card"

Changing the Storage for the "Voice Recorder" App:

  1. Launch the "Voice Recorder" app from the apps drawer
  2. Tap "Menu" > "Settings"
  3. Tap "Storage" and set the default storage location to "SD Card"
