Back Up App Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Tap Backup and reset under Personal
- If necessary, tap Backup account > Google account > Add account and sign in with your Google account
- Enable Back up my data and Backup account
Back Up Contacts:
- First, ensure that the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Swipe to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Tap Backup account and select HTC Account or Google account
- Enable Automatic backup to allow daily automatic contact backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the HTC One A9 and computer
- Swipe the status bar down on the home screen, and connect the phone as a Media device (MTP)
- On the computer, launch an Explorer window
- Navigate to, and locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is complete, click the mass storage device icon in the system tray and eject the phone storage
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the One A9 to the Mac via USB
- Open the file explorer on the Mac
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy the desired files and transfer them on your computer
- Once the backup is complete, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop into the trash can / eject icon
- Once ejected, safely disconnect the phone from the USB cable
