Turn On Power Saver Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Power > Power saver
- Tick the boxes associated with the features you want to turn on during Power Saving mode
- Tap the switch to enable Power saver
Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:
NOTE: By disabling the phones connectivity features when not in use (Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS), you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Tap the switches next to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to disable the features
- Tap More under Wireless & networks
- Tap Mobile network sharing and disable Mobile hotspot
- Return to Settings
- Tap Location (GPS) under Personal
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving
Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open the Setings menu
- Scroll to Phone and tap Display & Gestures
- Tap Brightness level
- If necessary, disable Automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease
- Return to Display & Gestures
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value like 15 seconds
Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:
NOTE: Some of your third party applications can affect your phones battery performance even when you dont use them assuming that the apps perform regular background processes. As such you might be able to improve battery life in the long run by disabling or removing unused third party apps.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Apps
- Access the Downloaded tab
- Select the desired app and tap Disable to turn it off
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall > OK
Change Sync Settings and Disable Background Data:
NOTE: By setting your phone / accounts to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the Settings
- Tap Accounts & sync
- Select an app to disable background sync for it
- For additional sync options, select an account (available sync option will differ from one account type to another)
Use 2G instead of 4G:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Mobile data > Network mode
- Tap GSM only to restrict network connectivity to 2G
Keep the OS Up to Date:
NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, thus its recommended that you keep your phone updated at all times. To check if new updates are available:
- Open Settings
- Tap About under Phone
- Tap Software information
- Tap Check now. In case an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to apply it
