I have heard from several users that it is in fact possible for the Sprint based HTC Touch to work under Cingular. Currently it is under Sprint. Has anyone else heard of this?

Re: HTC Touch for Cingular
This is a cross between doubtful and impossible.
AT&T (Cingular) uses a technology called GSM. Sprint is reliant on all CDMA (PCS) based systems. This means this device does not use a SIM Card. This is the downfall for users wishing to get a Sprint, Verizon, etc. device and use it with a company like AT&T or T-Mobile, it cannot be done.

Yes, you got it from China.
Most likely, in China, it was on a GSM network...which AT&T uses.
In the USA, this phone is CDMA...meaning it works with Sprint...and doesn't have a SIM card or a spot for one...
I'm pretty sure it's not a Global phone.
