    My ERIS is getting long in the tooth and I'm planning to down size to a non smart phone to save money. I'll remove cell service from the phone soon.

    Can the ERIS be used via wifi to load books for my Kindle APP and Gmail?

    Yep, I believe you can use just the wifi without cell or data service.
