Sending and Receiving a Text
- Go to the Start screen and tap the Messaging tile.
- In case the Messaging tile was removed, go to the Start screen, swipe left and then tap Messaging.
- Tap the plus sign icon (+) to create a new message.
- In the To field, enter the name or phone number of the person you wish to send your message to.
- To select one of your phone book contacts, tap the plus sign icon located in the top right corner of the screen and choose the desired contact.
- In the message field, enter your message.
- When done, tap the Send icon located at the bottom left side of the screen.
- The message is now sent.
- If you want to open a newly received message, go to the Start screen and tap Messaging.
- Tap the message thread that you wish to view.
- The message will then be displayed.
Forwarding a Text
- Go to the Start screen and tap the Messaging tile.
- In case the Messaging tile was removed, go to the Start screen, swipe left and then tap Messaging.
- Touch the desired message conversation.
- Touch and hold the message that you wish to forward.
- Then tap forward.
- In the To field, enter the desired contact name or phone number.
- Edit the message if you want.
- When finished, tap the send icon.
Adding a Picture to a Text
- Go to the Start screen and tap the Messaging tile.
- In case the Messaging tile was removed, go to the Start screen, swipe left and then tap Messaging.
- Tap the plus sign icon (+) to create a new message.
- In the To field, enter the name or phone number of the person you wish to send your message to.
- To select one of your phone book contacts, tap the plus sign icon located in the top right corner of the screen and choose the desired contact.
- In the message field, enter your message.
- Then tap the attach icon located at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the desired attachment type - in our case, picture.
- Tap the folder where the photo you wish to send is located in.
- Tap the photo that you want to send.
- When finished, tap the send icon.
- The text message (MMS) is now sent.
Saving a Picture from an MMS (Multimedia Message)
- To view an MMS (multimedia message), go to the Start screen and tap the Messaging tile.
- In case the Messaging tile was removed, go to the Start screen, swipe left and then tap Messaging.
- Tap the message that you wish to view.
- Touch the image within the message.
- The image should then be displayed.
- To save the image, tap the More icon and select save to phone.
Updating Emergency Alert Settings
- Go to the Start screen and tap the Messaging tile.
- In case the Messaging tile was removed, go to the Start screen, swipe left and then tap Messaging.
- Then tap the More icon.
- Touch Settings.
- Touch emergency alerts -> tap Emergency alerts again.
- Select the desired option (choose from Presidential only, Presidential and Extreme alerts or all alerts) and touch the Back key.
- You can disable any alert expect for the presidential one.
- The Emergency Alerts have been set.
