Bluetooth Settings

Enabling / Disabling Bluetooth:

  1. Slide the Notification panel open by dragging it down from the top of the screen
  2. Tap the "Settings" icon
  3. Tap the "Bluetooth On / Off" switch to enable or disable Bluetooth

Changing the Device Name:

  1. Open the Notification panel and tap "Settings"
  2. Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled
  3. Tap "Bluetooth". (the name itself, not the switch)
  4. Tap the "Menu" icon and select "Rename phone"
  5. Type in a new name for your device, then tap "Rename" to confirm

Connecting a Bluetooth Headset:

  1. Open the Notification panel and tap "Settings"
  2. Enable Bluetooth if necessary
  3. Tap "Bluetooth"
  4. Press the "menu" icon and tap "Scan" to refresh the list
  5. In the list of scanned devices, tap the name of the Bluetooth headset that you wish to connect with. A passcode may be required. (Tip: usually, Bluetooth headsets have the passcode "1234" or "0000")

Disconnecting From a Bluetooth Device:

  1. Open the Notifications panel
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap "Bluetooth"
  4. Under the "Paired devices" section, tap the name that you wish to disconnect and tap "OK"

Unpairing From a Bluetooth Device:

  1. Open the Notifications panel and tap "Settings"
  2. Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled
  3. Tap "Bluetooth"
  4. Under the "Paired devices" section, tap the icon depicting three switches, associated with the device that you wish to unpair
  5. Tap "Unpair"


Mobile Hotspot Settings

Mobile Hotspot (or tethering) allows you to share your device's data connection with other devices, by turning your smartphone into a wireless router

Enabling Mobile Hotspot:

  1. Open the Notifications panel
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under the "Wireless & Networks" section, tap "More"
  4. Press "Portable hotspot & tethering"
  5. Tap "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings"
  6. Type in a router name (Optional)
  7. Select the type of security you wish to use, and set a password for your wireless router
  8. Tap "Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot" to enable the feature and turn your device into a wireless router
