Using iTunes:

NOTE: If you have iTunes installed on a computer with access to the Internet, you can use the application to sync the contacts of your iPhone with a Google account. Then you can sync the contacts from the account with the HTC device.

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to the PC via USB
  3. Once connected, click the iPhone to view its summary page
  4. Go to the “Info” tab and mark the check box associated with “Sync Contacts With”
  5. In the drop-down menu, choose “Google Contacts”
  6. Sign in with your Google account or click “Configure” and choose an existing account if available
  7. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  8. Once completed, switch to the Desire 728 and register the same Google account, then allow it to sync contacts with your Android device

Using iCloud:

NOTE: If you have used the iCloud service on your iPhone prior to this guide, your iPhone contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. By accessing it on a computer connected to the Internet, you can export the contacts for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Access “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  6. Once the file is downloaded on the computer, import it to “Google Contacts”
  7. Alternatively, skip the step above and instead connect the Desire 728 to your computer via USB, and transfer the vCard file to the phone storage. Then open “People” and use the “Import” option to add the vCard file’s contents to your phonebook

Via “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: If you’re looking for ways to transfer contacts without needing a computer, you can use third party applications to get the job done. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Open the application and tap “Backup”
  3. After the backup file is created, tap “Email”
  4. Compose a new email with the vCard file attached to it
  5. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  6. On the Desire 728, open the email and download the attached file
  7. Use the “Import” option from the “People” app to import the vCard file’s contents to your phonebook

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is a third party app for iOS and Android, which can be used to transfer contacts and other types of files cross-platform without the need of a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Go to the Play Store and install the same app on the HTC phone
  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. Tap “Send” on the iPhone and select “Contacts”
  5. Choose the contacts you want to share and tap “Send”
  6. Lastly, select a method of transfer. You can tap “Receive” on the Desire 728 and enter the transfer code from the iPhone, or tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the Desire’s camera to begin the transfer
