Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Phone” and tap “Power” > “Power saver”
  4. You can customize Power Saver mode by clearing / checking the boxes associated with “Display”, “Vibration”, “CPU power” etc.
  5. When ready, tap the switch to turn the feature on

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Swipe to “Phone” and tap “Display & Gestures”
  3. Tap “Brightness level”
  4. If necessary, disable “Automatic brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
  6. Return to “Display & Gestures” and tap “Screen timeout”
  7. Select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

Disable Background Data and Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by setting your phone to sync less data.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Accounts & sync”
  3. Select an application
  4. To disable background sync, tap your account name
  5. Go back to “Accounts & sync” and select an account to change its sync settings

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third party applications can affect your phone’s battery performance even when you don’t use them – assuming that the apps run regular processes in the background. Thus you might be able to improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

  1. One the home screen, tap “Apps”
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Under “Phone”, tap “Apps”
  4. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired application
  5. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to turn off the app
  6. To completely remove the application, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth.

  1. Open the apps drawer and access “Settings”
  2. Tap the switches next to “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” to disable these features
  3. In the “Settings” menu, tap “More” under “Networks”
  4. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and disable “Mobile Hotspot”
  5. Go back to “Settings” and under “Personal”, tap “Location”
  6. Tap “Mode” > “Battery saving”

Use 2G instead of 4G:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Mobile data”
  3. Tap “Network mode” and select “GSM only”

Keep Your OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can sometimes improve your battery life, so it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for new updates:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Swipe to “Phone” and tap “About”
  3. Tap “Software information”
  4. Verify the software version and if available, download and follow the on-screen steps to apply the newer update
