Using a Google Account:
NOTE: You can use your Google account to sync the contacts stored on the Galaxy SIII, and then re-sync the account data (including contacts) with the HTC Desire 520.
- If necessary, sign in with your Google account on the Galaxy SIII
- Press Menu on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap My Accounts and select Google
- Tap your "user name or email address
- Enable Sync Contacts
- Tap Sync now
- Switch to the Desire 520 and register the same Google account. Then, allow the account to sync contacts with your phone
Using the Contacts / People Apps:
NOTE: Using the default Contacts / People applications you can export and import the contacts from the Galaxy SIII to the Desire 520.
- Open the Contacts app on the SGSIII
- From the Contacts tab, tap Menu
- If necessary, tap Contacts to display and switch to All contacts
- Press Menu > Import / Export
- Tap Export to SD card (make sure you remember the vCard files name for future use on the Desire 520)
- Tap OK to confirm
- Launch the email client and create a new email containing the vCard file as an attachment
- Send the email to your own address
- Switch to the Desire 520, open the email, and download the attached file
- Launch the People application. Tap Menu > Manage contacts > Import / Export > Import from SD card and import the file to your phonebook
NOTE: After you create the backup file on the Galaxy SIII, you can transfer it to the Desire 520 by connecting both smartphones to your computer via USB, and copy > pasting the file from one phone storage to the other.
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: You can also use third party applications designed for contact transfer. Send Anywhere is an app that uses a P2P connection to transfer contacts and other file types across phones / platforms.
- Visit the Google Play Store and install Send Anywhere on both your Android devices
- Open the application on both smartphones
- Tap Send on the Galaxy SIII, and tap Contacts
- Select the contacts you want to share and tap Send
- Select the desired transfer method. You can tap Generate QR Code on the SIII and scan the code with the Desire 520s camera to begin the process. Alternatively tap Receive on the Desire, and manually enter the transfer code generated on the SGSIII
