Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
  4. If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Google account” > “Add account” and sign in with the Google account you want to use for the backup
  5. Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account”

Back Up Contacts on an HTC or Google Account:

  1. Make sure your phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Next, open the apps drawer
  3. Go to “Settings”
  4. Under “Personal”, tap “Backup and reset”
  5. Tap “Backup account”
  6. Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
  7. To allow your device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, enable “Automatic Backup”
  8. To back up your contacts manually, tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC Desire 825 to your PC via USB
  2. On the home screen, slide the “Status” bar down
  3. Make sure the device is connected as a “Media device (MTP)” or “disk drive”
  4. On the computer, open a File Explorer window
  5. Use the Explorer to navigate to the phone’s storage
  6. Copy the desired media files from your phone, and transfer them on the PC storage to create backups
  7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray
  8. It’s now safe to disconnect the device from the USB cord

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the HTC Desire 825 and Mac
  2. From the phone’s notification area, make sure “Media device (MTP)” or “disk drive” is selected
  3. Open the file explorer on the Mac
  4. Locate the desired media files on your phone and copy them
  5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
  6. Once the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and into the “trash can” to eject it
  7. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
