Back Up Application Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset > Backup account
- Select an existing account or tap Google Account > Add Account
- Sign in with your account and enable Back up my data and Backup account
Back Up Contacts on an HTC or Google Account:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Select Google Account or HTC Account
- Turn On Automatic backup to allow the phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC U Ultra to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Next, locate and copy the desired media files on the phone storage
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the HTC device and computer
- Turn ON Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and use it to locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the media files from the phone to the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- After the transfer is complete, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the Trash can to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
