Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal”
  4. Tap “Backup and reset”
  5. Tap “Backup account” and select an existing account or tap “Google Account” > “Add Account”
  6. Sign in with your account and enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data”

Back Up Contacts on an HTC / Google Account:

  1. Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Open the apps drawer
  3. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  4. Tap “Backup and reset”
  5. Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
  6. Enable “Automatic backup” to allow the phone to perform daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
  7. To back up contacts manually, tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC One X10 to your PC via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate and copy the desired media files on the phone
  5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC phone to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Finder on the Mac
  4. Use the File Finder to locate the media files on the phone
  5. Transfer the media files from the phone in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
  7. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
