Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset
- Tap Backup account and select an existing account or tap Google Account > Add Account
- Sign in with your account and enable Backup account and Back up my data
Back Up Contacts on an HTC / Google Account:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset
- Select Google account or HTC account
- Enable Automatic backup to allow the phone to perform daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC One X10 to your PC via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate and copy the desired media files on the phone
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC phone to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac
- Use the File Finder to locate the media files on the phone
- Transfer the media files from the phone in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the Trash can
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
