NOTE: You can check this thread for a guide on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files on the HTC U11+.

Restore App Data:

  1. Ensure the device is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup and reset”
  4. Tap “Restore from HTC Backup”
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts and select an account to complete the restore

Restore Contacts from an Account:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts & Sync”
  4. Log in with the HTC or Google backup account used for the backup
  5. Ensure “Contacts” is checked
  6. Then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

Restore Media Files form a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
  5. Copy and paste the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folders from where they originate
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Finder on the Mac
  4. Locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  6. Once the transfer ends, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the trash can to eject it
  7. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
