NOTE: You can check this thread for a guide on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files on the HTC U11+.
Restore App Data:
- Ensure the device is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset
- Tap Restore from HTC Backup
- Follow the on-screen prompts and select an account to complete the restore
Restore Contacts from an Account:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts & Sync
- Log in with the HTC or Google backup account used for the backup
- Ensure Contacts is checked
- Then tap Menu > Sync Now
Restore Media Files form a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC device to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy and paste the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory or the folders from where they originate
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC device to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac
- Locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
- Copy and transfer the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- Once the transfer ends, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the trash can to eject it
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
