Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Power” > “Power saver”
  4. Tick the boxes associated with the power saving options you want to turn on
  5. Tap the “Power saver” switch and turn the feature ON

Disable the Phone’s Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: you can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use in order to increase battery life in the long run. This includes Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, Bluetooth etc.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” switches to disable the features
  3. For GPS options, access “Location”
  4. Then tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Tap “Mobile network sharing”
  7. Turn “Mobile Hotspot” OFF

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Mobile data”
  3. Go to “Network mode”
  4. Turn “GSM Only” ON

Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Display & Gestures”
  3. Tap “Brightness level”
  4. If necessary, turn “Adaptive brightness” OFF
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  6. For timeout options, go to “Display & gestures” > “Screen timeout” and select a lower value

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your apps/accounts sync settings to reduce sync and thus improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts & Sync”
  3. Select an application to change the sync settings
  4. Select an account type and account and change the desired sync options

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. As such, by removing or disabling unused third party apps you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone”
  3. Tap “Apps” and go to “Downloaded”
  4. Select the desired application
  5. Tap “Disable” to turn the app OFF
  6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone”
  3. Tap “About” > “System updates”
  4. Tap “Check now”
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and install available updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
