NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files on the HTC device.
Restore App Data:
- Make sure the device is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Tap Restore from HTC Backup
- Follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
Restore Contacts from an Account:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts & Sync
- Sign in with the HTC or Google backup account used for the initial backup
- Make sure Contacts is checked then tap Menu > Sync Now
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC device to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the Media folder or the directory of origin
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC device to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the Mac
- Locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
- Copy and transfer the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin or the Media directory
- Once the transfer is complete, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the trash can to eject it
- You can safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
