Back Up App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Backup and reset
- Tap Backup account and select an existing account or tap Google Account > Add account and follow the on-screen steps to sign in
- Enable Backup account and Back up my data
Back Up Contacts on an HTC or Google Account:
- Connect the phone to an active Wi-Fi network if necessary
- Go to Settings > Backup and reset
- Select Google account or HTC account
- Enable Automatic backup if you wish the phone to perform daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, make sure Contacts is checked and tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC phone to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac:
- Connect the phone to the PC via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the Mac
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
- Once done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
