Back Up App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Backup and reset”
  3. Tap “Backup account” and select an existing account or tap “Google Account” > “Add account” and follow the on-screen steps to sign in
  4. Enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data”

Back Up Contacts on an HTC or Google Account:

  1. Connect the phone to an active Wi-Fi network if necessary
  2. Go to “Settings” > “Backup and reset”
  3. Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
  4. Enable “Automatic backup” if you wish the phone to perform daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
  5. To back up contacts manually, make sure “Contacts” is checked and tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Back Up Media Files on a Mac:

  1. Connect the phone to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the Mac
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
  6. Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject it
  7. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
