Restore App Data:

  1. If necessary, connect the HTC phone to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access “Backup and reset”
  4. Tap “Restore from HTC backup”
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process

Restore Contacts from an Account:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts & Sync”
  4. Sign in with the desired Google or HTC backup account
  5. Ensure “Contacts” is checked
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin or the “Media” directory
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the Mac via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification shade
  3. Launch the File Finder on the Mac and navigate to the media file backups on the computer
  4. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
  5. After the transfer completes, drag the phone’s virtual drive form the desktop and drop it over the “trash can” to eject it
