Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Access Personal
- Tap Power > Power saver
- Tick the boxes next to the power saving options you want to enable
- Tap the Power saver switch ON
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- Go to Display & Gestures
- Tap Brightness level
- Disable Adaptive brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left in order to decrease screen brightness
- For timeout options, tap Screen timeout and select a lower value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phones connectivity features OFF when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Open Settings
- Tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches to disable the features
- Open Location for more GPS options then tap Mode and enable Battery saving
- To disable Hotspot, return to Settings and tap more under Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile network sharing and disable Mobile Hotspot
Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Go to Mobile data > Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Change Sync Settings:
- Open Settings
- Go to Accounts & Sync
- Select an account and change the available settings to minimize sync
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform background processes regularly and they can potentially affect the phones battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. BY disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Go to Apps
- Switch to Downloaded if necessary then select the desired app
- To turn the app off, tap Disable
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Open Settings
- Go to About phone
- Tap System updates > Check now
- If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the update
