Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Swipe to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- If necessary, tap Backup account > Add account and sign in with the Google account you want to use for the backup
- To sync account data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account, turn on Back up my data
- To restore data automatically upon reinstalling apps, enable Automatic restore
NOTE: Data backed up using the method above will be restored automatically once you sign in with your Google account on the phone, such as after a factory reset.
Back Up Contacts Using a Google Account:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Tap Accounts
- Sign in with your Google account if necessary. If not, tap the desired account
- Tap your email address and enable Contacts if necessary
- Tap Menu > Sync now
NOTE: Contacts restored using this method will be restored automatically when you sign in with your Google account on the phone.
Back Up Contacts on Storage:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu > Import / Export
- Tap Export to SD card or Export to storage
- Select a different location to create the backup, or use the default one
- Tap OK to confirm
Back Up Media Files
Using Photos:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Photos
- Perform one of the following:
- If this is the first time accessing Photos, tap Sign in and follow the on-screen steps. Then, select to back up data over Wi-Fi + mobile networks, or Wi-Fi only, and tap Turn on
- If you have already used the Photos app before, tap Menu > Settings > Auto Backup and tap the switch to enable the option
Using a Windows PC:
- Connect the Kyocera phone to your computer
- On the home screen, drag the Notification bar down and make sure Media device (MTP)
- On the PC, open the File Explorer
- Locate the media files on your phone and copy them
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on your computer
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
- Its now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Using a Mac Computer:
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
- Download and install androidfiletransfer.dmg
- Once installed, drag Android File Transfer to Applications
- Connect the Kyocera device to your Mac via USB
- On the phone, make sure Media sync (MTP) is turned on
- On the Mac, open Android File Transfer
- Browse for the desired media files and use drag > drop to transfer them
- Once done, drag the phones virtual drive into the Trash can to eject it
