Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
  4. If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Add account” and sign in with the Google account you want to use for the backup
  5. To sync account data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account, turn on “Back up my data”
  6. To restore data automatically upon reinstalling apps, enable “Automatic restore”

NOTE: Data backed up using the method above will be restored automatically once you sign in with your Google account on the phone, such as after a factory reset.

Back Up Contacts Using a Google Account:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Accounts”
  4. Sign in with your Google account if necessary. If not, tap the desired account
  5. Tap your email address and enable “Contacts” if necessary
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

NOTE: Contacts restored using this method will be restored automatically when you sign in with your Google account on the phone.

Back Up Contacts on Storage:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  3. Tap “Export to SD card” or “Export to storage”
  4. Select a different location to create the backup, or use the default one
  5. Tap “OK” to confirm

Back Up Media Files

Using “Photos”:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Photos”
  3. Perform one of the following:
    • If this is the first time accessing “Photos”, tap “Sign in” and follow the on-screen steps. Then, select to back up data over Wi-Fi + mobile networks, or “Wi-Fi only”, and tap “Turn on”
    • If you have already used the “Photos” app before, tap “Menu” > “Settings” > “Auto Backup” and tap the switch to enable the option

Using a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Kyocera phone to your computer
  2. On the home screen, drag the “Notification” bar down and make sure “Media device (MTP)”
  3. On the PC, open the File Explorer
  4. Locate the media files on your phone and copy them
  5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on your computer
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  7. It’s now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Using a Mac Computer:

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Visit https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
  3. Download and install “androidfiletransfer.dmg”
  4. Once installed, drag” Android File Transfer” to “Applications”
  5. Connect the Kyocera device to your Mac via USB
  6. On the phone, make sure “Media sync (MTP)” is turned on
  7. On the Mac, open “Android File Transfer”
  8. Browse for the desired media files and use “drag > drop” to transfer them
  9. Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive into the “Trash can” to eject it
