Not sure, as I haven't tried calling since everyone who responded says i cant unlock it. This was not my personal phone but one from a lot i bought at a government auction. Our company sells them on ebay and a customer told us the phone was locked. Not sure if Verizon will unlock it for us under those circumstances. Thanks though for your reply!

Well our company has nothing to do with cell phones. It's Bridge Capital Corporation. My boss does financial consulting and just has an ebay business as a hobby.

what is his ebay business then?
i am curious now. this is 2 phones now that are not 'unlocked' that sound like they were sold as 'unlocked.'
and if this is his hobby, then why are you, an employee of an unrelated company, helping him?

Because I'm his assistant/secretary and I do whatever he tells me to because he pays me.
Both of us have no idea how to tell if a phone is locked or not. We don't work for any kind of cell phone company. I called the companies the phones are subscribed with and gave them the IMEI #s to make sure they were able to be activated. No one ever told me anything about these phones being locked.
These phones were both sold to us by GSA in the same lot so that's probably why they're having similar problems.
If you can't help me, that's fine. He just owns his own company (it's just the two of us and we share an office with another company) and I answer the phones and work on his ebay account or whatever else he needs. If you really want to learn more, go to www.bridgecapitalcorp.com. I don't know what else you need. If you can help me, great, I appreciate it. But that's really all I need.

my advice:
1. tell him to quit selling unlocked phones. it's obvious that neither of you know what this means, so you shouldn't advertise it.
2. sell the phones for what they are only. if it says cingular, list it as cingular compatible. verizon, verizon compatible. and so on. avoid any additional hassle that you are incapable of fixing.
3. maybe your boss should actually read up on these forums so that he might have some knowledge of his product he is selling. since you're a member, you might want to also try this rather than posting questions only.
cpf has tons of relevant information that you and your boss are lacking. take advantage of this online knowledgebase and you will be able to take full advantage of the sales possibilities that you are sitting on.
