    hey cellphoneforum people

    i put in my microsd in my lgcu500 and went on to check the microsd memory and the phone said that the memory card wasnt ready
    i dont get it its in and the manual said to put the card with the gold plates down...but it doesnt recognize?
    so can anyone help me...is my phone broken or my card...or is it a setting problem?

    Did you get a card reader with it? Have you tried writing to it? Is there a copy protection switch on it?

    well i have a card reader and i put the card in the phone and took it out to make the preset folders...and i put it stuff in the designated folder and when i put the card in the phone again...i said that the phone wasnt present
    ill check to see if the card is locked....but if the card is locked...then i cant put the files in in the first place so...?

    There is no copy protect switch on he MicroSD card, it is simply too small for that. The card should ony fit in the slot one way, so that is probably not your problem. Since the card initialized and created the default folders when you put it in your phone, there is no problem with device incompatibility. I would suggest formatting the card blank on your PC, then reformatting it in your phone. This time however, power cycle the phone with the card in the slot. Then take it out and put it in your PC and copy your files back over to the card (making sure to out the files in the correct folders). If this doesn't work, then you most likely have a problem with the phone.

    u mean reformatting as in like making it make the default folders?
    wats power cycling...like keeping the card in the phone till the battery dies?

    well thnx for the help...ill try it should work right?
    i just want to make sure...is there like a certain setting the phone needs to be to recognize the card?
