    This is from page 61 of your UG:

    4.6 Airplane Mode

    Allows you to use the menu
    functions when radio
    transmission is restricted.
    Activating this mode will disable
    all wireless communications as
    noted in the disclaimer on the phone...

    Thanks for the reply. I must be mistaken about what disabling EV-DO would accomplish. I was under the impression that disabling that function would stop the phone from searching for an EV signal, while allowing it to still function in voice modes. I thought I had read that this would allow for improved battery life in fringe areas. I wasn't looking to disable all wireless communication.
