Transferring Contacts via iTunes:

Using iTunes you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account, allowing you to transfer the contacts to an Android device with ease. Transferred contacts include the contact image, address, email, notes and other information. For this approach, you are required to have access to a computer with Internet and iTunes installed.

  1. On the computer, launch iTunes
  2. Connect the iPhone to your computer through USB
  3. After a successful connection, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it
  4. From the summary page, go to the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. Select "Google Contacts" from the drop-down menu
  6. Register a Google account in iTunes if you haven't done so before. Alternatively, you can click "Configure" and select an existing account
  7. Click "Apply" and the syncing process will commence
  8. On the LG Optimus L9 II, register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes. (NOTE: if you need to add an account, you can do so by going to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  9. Set the Google account so that it can sync contacts with your Android smartphone

Transferring Contacts via iCloud:

Assuming that you have enabled the iCloud service on your iPhone before, then your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. If this is the case, then you can log in to your iCloud account and export these contacts in a vCard file. For this method you need access to a computer with Internet.

  1. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ on your computer's Internet browser and sign in with your iCloud account
  2. Click "Contacts" to view the list of backed up contacts
  3. Select the contacts that you wish to transfer
  4. Click the "Settings" icon located in the lower-left side of the screen, and select "Export vCard"
  5. A VCF file will be downloaded on your computer
  6. Once saved, import the VCF file to Google Contacts, or connect the L9 II to your computer via USB, copy the file to the phone's "sdcard" directory, launch the contacts application and use the "Import / Export" function to transfer the contacts to your phonebook

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer Contacts:

In case you wish to transfer your iPhone contacts without having to access the web on a computer, then you can complete the process using various applications, such as "My Contacts Backup". This is an iOS app that allows you to compile your iPhone's contacts in a VCF file, which can then be shared via email.

  1. Visit the App Store on the iPhone, and download "My Contacts Backup"
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
  3. Tap "Email" in order to attach the backup VCF file to an email
  4. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  5. On the LG Optimus L9 II, open the email containing the vCard file and download it on your smartphone
  6. Use the contacts application to import the VCF file's contents in your phonebook

Transferring Contacts using "Send Anywhere":

Another application that can be used not only for contact transfer, but for file transfer as well, is "Send Anywhere". This app uses a peer-2-peer connection to perform the transfer, so you're not required to have access to a computer for this method.

  1. On the iPhone, download "Send Anywhere" from the App Store
  2. Download the same app on the LG device, via the Play Store
  3. Launch the app on both smartphones
  4. On the sender device (the iPhone), tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  5. Select the contacts that you wish to transfer, and tap "Send"
  6. Lastly, choose the desired method of transfer. By tapping "Generate QR Code", you can generate a code that can be scanned with the Optimus L9 II's camera in order to begin the transfer. You can also tap "Receive" on the LG device, and type in the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone
