Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and swipe to "Device"
  3. Tap "Battery" > "Battery Saver"
  4. Enable "Battery Saver" by tapping the ON / OFF switch
  5. Select the battery level to automatically enable Battery Saving (or tap "Immediately")
  6. Enable or disable the desired "Battery saver" options like "Auto-sync" and so on
  7. For more Battery Saving Mode options tap the "Settings" button next to "Brightness" and "Screen Timeout"

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the apps drawer and go to "Settings"
  2. Access "Display" and tap "Brightness"
  3. Drag the slider to the left and press "Back"
  4. Tap "Screen timeout" and choose a lower value, like "15 seconds"

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS:

NOTE: To maximize your phone's battery performance you can disable its connectivity features whenever they are not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS. To do so:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Access "Settings" and tap "Tethering & Networks"
  3. Tap "Mobile Hotspot" and set the switch to "OFF"
  4. Press "Back"
  5. From the "Settings" menu, swipe to "Personal"
  6. Tap "Location" > "Mode" > "Battery saving (Networks only)"
  7. Press "Back" to return to the "Settings" menu
  8. Tap the switches next to "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" to turn these features off

Change Sync Settings for Apps:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Launch "Settings"
  3. Under "Personal" tap "Accounts & Sync"
  4. Clear the "Auto-sync data" option
  5. Under "Accounts", choose an app to change its sync behavior

Disable Background Data:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Mobile data"
  3. Tap "Menu" and enable "Restrict background data"
  4. Tap "OK" to confirm

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can affect your phone's battery performance even when they are not in use, assuming they run processes in the background. To increase battery life you can either disable or remove rarely used third party apps:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Apps"
  4. Access the "Downloaded" tab
  5. Tap and hold an app, then tap "Force Stop" or "Uninstall"

Switch from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Tethering & Networks"
  3. Tap "Mobile networks" and mark the "Use only 2G networks" check box

Keep Your Phone Updated:

NOTE: Certain software updates can include improvements to battery life. As such it's recommended to keep your phone up to date. To check for software updates:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "System" and tap "About phone"
  4. Tap "Update Center" > "System updates"
  5. Press "Check now" and follow the on-screen prompts assuming an update is available for download
