Enable and Personalize Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab and swipe to Phone Management
- Tap Battery & power saving
- Tap the ON / OFF switch to enable the feature
- Select the desired battery level to automatically start Battery Saver
Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Tap Apps from the home screen
- Go to Settings > Display
- Under Other screen settings tap Brightness
- Drag the Brightness slider towards the left
- From the screen settings menu, tap Screen timeout and select a lower value such as 15 seconds
Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Hotspot:
NOTE: Disabling your phones connectivity features whenever they are not in use can improve battery life on the long run.
- Tap Apps from the home screen
- Go to Settings and access the Networks tab
- Tap Tethering under Connectivity
- Tap Mobile hotspot and tap the ON / OFF switch to disable the feature
- Press Back to return to the Settings menu
- Tap the switches associated with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to disable these features
- From Settings tap the General tab
- Swipe to Personal and tap Location
- Tap Mode > Battery saving (Networks only)" to disable GPS
Change the Sync Settings for Apps:
NOTE: You can prolong your phones battery life by setting your apps to sync less data or less often.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings and access the General tab
- Under Personal tap Accounts & sync
- Clear the Auto-sync data check box
- Under Accounts, select an application to change its sync settings
Disable Background Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen and go to Settings
- Access the Networks tab
- Tap Mobile data and press Menu
- Enable Restrict background data and tap OK
Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:
NOTE: Some third party applications can affect your phones battery performance even though you might not use them. This is because certain apps run processes / services in the background. To prevent this from affecting battery performance you can disable or remove third party apps that you rarely or never use.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings and access the General tab
- Under Phone Management tap Apps
- Access the Downloaded tab and then tap and hold the desired application
- Tap Force Stop, or to completely remove the app tap Uninstall
Switch from 4G to 2G Connectivity:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access the Networks tab
- Under Connectivity tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- To enable 2G, check the Use only 2G networks box. Clear it to re-enable 4G
Keep the Phone Updated:
NOTE: New software updates can contain improvements to battery life, thus it is advised that you keep your phone up to date. To check for new updates:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings and access the General tab
- Swipe to Phone Management and tap About phone
- Tap Update Center > System updates
- Tap Check for Updates. If a new firmware version is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it on your phone
