Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab and swipe to “Phone management”
  4. Tap “Battery” > “Battery saver”
  5. Set the switch to “ON”
  6. Optionally, customize how the Battery Saver Mode works by clearing or checking boxes
  7. You can also select the battery level at which Battery Saver enables automatically

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “Display” tab
  4. Under “Other screen settings” tap “Brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider to the left
  6. Go to screen timeout and select a lower value, like “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Hotspot:

NOTE: You can prolong your phone’s battery life if you disable all / some of the connectivity features when they are not in use, including GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Hotspot.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings” and the “Networks” tab
  3. Under “Connectivity” tap “Tethering & networks”
  4. Tap “Mobile hotspot” to disable the feature
  5. Tap the switches associated with “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth", and set them to “OFF”
  6. From the “General” tab, tap “Location” > “Mode” > “Battery saving (Networks only)"

Change the Sync Settings for Applications:

NOTE: Setting your apps to sync less data / less often can improve your phone’s battery performance on the long run. To do so:

  1. Tap “Apps” and go to “Settings”
  2. Under “Personal” tap “Accounts & Sync”
  3. Clear the check box associated with “Auto-sync data”
  4. To adjust more sync settings, swipe to “Accounts”, select an account and adjust the available sync options

Disable Background Data:

  1. Go to “Settings” and access the “Networks” tab
  2. Tap “Mobile data”
  3. Press “Menu” and check the “Restrict background data” check box
  4. Tap “OK”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some of your third party apps can affect your phone’s battery life even when you don’t use them. This is because certain apps can still run processes in the background. As such, to maximize battery life, you should consider disabling or removing rarely, or never-used third party apps.

  1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Apps” under “Phone management”
  4. From the “Downloaded” tab, tap and hold the application you want to “Force stop”
  5. Alternatively tap “Uninstall” to completely remove the app

Switch from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

  1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Access the “Networks” tab
  3. Tap “Tethering & Networks” under “Connectivity”
  4. Tap “Mobile network” and select to “Use only 2G networks”

Keep Your Phone Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, so you should keep your phone up to date at all times. You can check for new software updates by performing the following:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Tap “Phone management” > “About phone”
  4. Tap “Update center” > “System updates”
  5. Tap “Check for updates” and in case a new software is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it
