Using a Google Account:
NOTE: You can use a Google account to sync the contacts on your SGSIII. Then you can sync the account data with the LG V10 to transfer the contacts.
- If necessary, sign in with your Google account on the Galaxy SIII
- Press Menu on the home screen and go to Settings
- Tap My Accounts > Google
- Tap your email address or user name
- Enable Sync Contacts and tap Sync Now
- Switch to the LG V10 and register the same Google account
- Allow the account to sync contacts with your LG device
Using the Contacts App:
NOTE: You can transfer your contacts by exporting them on the SGSIII using the default Contacts application, and them importing them on the LG V10 using its similar pre-loaded contacts app.
- Open Contacts on the Galaxy SIII
- Press Menu in the Contacts tab
- Tap Contacts to display > All contacts
- Press Menu > Import / Export
- Tap Export to SD card and make sure you remember the files name before tapping OK
- After the vCard file is created, write a new email and attach the file to it
- Send the email to your own Gmail address
- Switch to the LG V10 and open the email, then download the attached file
- Launch Contacts and tap Menu > Manage contacts
- Tap Import
- Under From, select the vCard file downloaded from the email
- In the To field, select Phone or Google
- Select the contacts you want to import or tap Select all
- Tap Import > Yes
NOTE: After you have created the vCard file on the SGSIII, you can transfer it to the LG V10 by connecting both smartphones to your computer via USB, and manually copy-pasting the file from one phone to the other.
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: You can also transfer contacts using third party applications, such as Send Anywhere. This is an app that uses a P2P connection to transfer contacts and other types of files without the need of a computer.
- Go to the Google Play Store and install Send Anywhere on both smartphones
- Open the application on both handsets
- Tap Send on the SGSIII, and select Contacts
- Select the contacts you want to share and tap Send
- Choose a transfer method. You can tap Generate QR Code on the SGSIII and scan the code with the LG V10, or tap Receive on the LG V10 and enter the transfer code from the SGSIII
